Het Scheepvaartmuseum Streete View

This is the map of Europe made by the famous cartographer Blaeu in 1635.

Click the marker on this map to go back the map of 17th century Amsterdam. We have added ‘Streete View’ to this map so you can also have a look at street scenes from Golden-Age Amsterdam. Drag the little figure to a marker on that map to see a print or etching of the location made in the 17th-century.

More highlights from the works of famous cartographers like Mercator and Blaeu are on view in The Atlases exhibition in Het Scheepvaartmuseum (the National Maritime Museum) in Amsterdam.
